Data Retention, Deletion, and Offboarding
Effective date: May 24, 2026 · Last updated: May 24, 2026
This explains how long we keep information, how deletion and export requests work, and what happens when service ends.
1. What we keep and roughly how long
| Data type | Retention |
|---|---|
| Leads / contact submissions | ~12 months after collection or per client instruction |
| Client account records | duration of service, then ~12 months |
| Support tickets / requests / messages | ~12 months after closure |
| Billing / payment records | ~7 years (tax/accounting) |
| Email send/delivery records | ~12–24 months |
| Reporting snapshots | ~12 months |
| Project assets / build files | duration of service, then a short handoff window |
| Backups | rolling, then overwritten on the backup schedule |
Billing-record retention is set for tax and accounting reasons.
2. Cancellation and offboarding
When you cancel (see the Refund, Cancellation, and Export Policy):
- Service runs through the end of the current paid period.
- We provide a reasonable export/handoff of your site content and data while your account is current.
- After a reasonable handoff window, we may delete or archive your active project data, subject to the retention table above.
3. Deletion requests
You can ask us to delete information we hold about you by contacting chris@webitizer.com. We will respond reasonably and confirm what was deleted.
4. Export requests
You can ask for an export of your site content and data. We provide it in a reasonable format, where technically feasible, while your account is current (see the Refund, Cancellation, and Export Policy).
5. What we may retain after a deletion request
Even after a deletion request, we may keep certain records where allowed or required, including:
- billing and payment records (tax/accounting/legal)
- records needed to resolve disputes or enforce agreements
- limited security and audit logs
- anything we are legally required to keep
We keep only what we reasonably need and for no longer than reasonably necessary.
6. Security of retained data
We apply reasonable security to data we retain (see our Privacy Policy). No system is perfectly secure, and we do not guarantee absolute security.
7. Third-party copies
Some data may also exist with our service providers (for example, the payment processor or email delivery provider). Their retention is governed by their own terms; we ask them to delete on request where feasible.
